Of THQ Nordic’s many releases this year, Gothic 1 Remake is arguably the most impactful, selling 500,000 copies in its first week. In a new video revealed during the publisher’s latest showcase, Alkimia Interactive thanked fans for their support but also revealed that it’s not done with the Valley of the Mines just yet.
New features are inbound for the open-world RPG, including Photo Mode and Marvin Mode. The latter is most infamous for cheats, as players could use the free camera, conjure any items they desired, and much more to become all-powerful in the original. How it will work in the remake remains to be seen, but it’s an exciting prospect.
Of course, other modes with “alternative progression” are also coming alongside the mod kit, providing even more ways for players to customize their experience. A timeline for these updates has yet to be confirmed, but if that wasn’t enough, Alkimia has another game in the works. It’s planned to be announced at next year’s THQ Nordic Showcase. Maybe it can appear alongside Darksiders 4, which has yet to receive an update since its announcement in 2025.
