Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for its upcoming game based on the classic Mobile Suit Gundam franchise – Gundam Rogue Orbit. The trailer, along with giving us a glimpse of the story and gameplay moments, also confirms that the title is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on March 5th.
The trailer for the mech-based combat title showcases many of the encounters that players will take on, ranging from smaller machines to massive ones piloted by enemy factions.
Bandai Namco describes Gundam Rogue Orbit as a “high-mobility action game,” which implies that players will constantly have to stay on the move to avoid enemy attacks. This is showcased quite well in the trailer, which gives us a look at the many melee combos and defensive moves that players can pull off when taking on challenging foes.
The title puts players in the shoes of the pilot of Gundam Helix, who joins a ragtag crew of soldiers that has to face an unknown threat. The title is slated to be an entirely new take on the franchise with an emphasis on cinematic storytelling interspersed with hard-hitting combat. Fans of the Gundam franchise might also find it interesting that its story takes place in an entirely new universe separate from the classic shows and movies.
Gundam Rogue Orbit was unveiled back in June with a trailer giving us our first look at the unnamed protagonist known only as The Pilot, the title’s stylish approach to mech combat, and plenty of the enemy forces that players will get to take on.
