With less than two weeks before launch, Thekla, Inc. has announced the price for Order of the Sinking Star. The newest – and biggest – puzzle epic from The Witness and Braid creator Jonathan Blow will cost $29.99 on PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Why is this so significant? If you haven’t been keeping track, Order of the Sinking Star essentially packs four different puzzle scenarios with their own separate characters, stories and regions into one sprawling adventure. For example, the Hearty Heroes of Hauling consist of your typical fantasy characters using their skills in a moving company. When things go south, you’ll need to harness teleportation and other skills to progress.
Of course, that’s only scratching the surface, as characters intersect in Gold Rooms, their skills combining to solve even the most devious challenges. Ten years in the making with over 1,000 puzzles and “hundreds of hours of unique gameplay,” Order of the Sinking Star is absolutely brimming with creativity…and mystery. What is the titular Order, anyway? Is there a method to their madness?
