Castlevania Belmont's Curse

Getting playable demos to try before we decide to pick up games is a very welcome blast from the past for those of us old enough to remember when it was the norm.

The latest to hop on that happy wagon is Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, and it dropped the news with a trailer that’s a pretty strong argument for giving it a shot. You can see just how agile Rose Belmont really is, and what she pulls off makes her an intriguing protagonist from a mechanical standpoint. She seems to have inherited the signature stubbornness of her legendary family, which will probably make her compelling from a narrative perspective.

Put those together, pit her against enemies like the one the trailer highlights, and you’ve got the makings of a worthy addition to the franchise’s hallowed ranks. It certainly looks like the start of something special. It’s going to be fun to give this one a shot and learn how it takes things forward from here while we’re at it.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse launches on October 15th for Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Save data from the demo will transfer to the game, so those looking for an early start should proceed posthaste.
