A former agent with a murky past, and the trauma of that past catching up with her, is a great premise for a story that blends a desperate struggle to survive relentless enemies with psychological elements into a cohesive narrative. At least, that’s what Separuh Interactive’s Agni: Village of Calamity seems to offer.
Enter Agni, an Indonesian operative who’s seen some sights during her time in service and has seemingly disregarded a direct order, resulting in her being disgraced in her field of work. That isn’t the extent of her problems, though, as it looks like the ghosts of her past are catching up with her, and it’s an adventure that’s looking both slick and terrifying thanks to a new trailer with a suitably intriguing music video that presents you with what to expect from the game.
We’re especially interested in how Agni’s pistol seems to recoil with every shot, which might make holding your aim steady when those bizarre enemies hit much harder than they look in the heat of the moment. The trailer below should show you what we mean and offer more than a few reasons to wishlist this one. It’s out on an undisclosed date in the near future for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
