You probably won’t be surprised to learn how excited we’ve been to revisit Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy.
We say that because our enthusiasm was on display when we shared the announcement, and we’re now just a week away from the new version’s November 12th release. It brings visual upgrades, the Dandori Academy Mode, and a multiplayer challenge mode where you can duke it out with a friend with just one copy of the game.
The Dandori Academy is arguably the biggest highlight, letting you take on increasingly challenging stages as many times as you like for much-needed practice and a few Redo Passes for the Exams once you’re confident enough. You also get grades, which show how well you’ve engaged with the game’s systems.
Other modes are part of this one’s allure, and with 3.33 million units sold since the original version dropped for the Switch back in 2023, the Nintendo Switch 2 port is sure to boost those already impressive numbers. A playable demo is out now if you want to try it out before you buy. And while we’re on the subject, Switch owners can purchase an Upgrade Pack to play the new version on Switch 2.
