Bethesda develops Kinect shouts, house building and dragon riding for Skyrim, might release it as DLC in the future

Bethesda revealed a Game Jam for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which includes dragon mounts, cuilding your own houses, Kinect shouts, new werewolf skill trees and much more.

At a keynote speech at D.I.C.E 2012, the game’s creative director Todd Howard revealed all these new features that the dev team had been working on. Seasonal foliage, spears, kill cams for magic, water arrows for enhanced stealth, new follower commands, building your own home, goblins, mounted combat, dragon mounts, Kinect shouts, added skill trees, becoming a flying vampire, a huge mud crab, enhanced visuals (water effects, snow footprints, moving objects, lighting), lighting based dungeons, improved enemy AI, moving platforms and hanging… thingies in dungeons and fat giants were all included.

You can see those features in action in the following video that Howard presented during his speech.

You can also become a… werebear now. That’s like a werewolf, but a bear, not a wolf. There were also ice and fire arrows, water currents,

Bethesda says that they might release it as a DLC sometime. Maybe. They’re “not sure”.

“Could it be in a future DLC? We don’t know,” Howard said. “Could various parts of it just be released for free? We don’t know.”

He also announced that ten million people have played Skyrim across all three  systems (PS3, Xbox 360, PS3) with an average playtime of 75 hours per player. That’s phenomenal, especially for an RPG.

You can watch the entire keynote speech at GameSpot.
