E3 2012: Wii U Will Support Two Wii U Pads, Confirmed

Posted By | On 05th, Jun. 2012

In addition to confirming the Wii U Pro controller a few days ago for multiplat games and for local multiplayer, Nintendo announced that the Wii U will support local multiplayer with up to two tablet controllers. ‘Just like the original NES,’ said Reggie, as he beamed at the audience, and we should have known right then and there how this conference would turn out.

Admittedly, the opportunity to use two Wii U pads in addition to four other non tablet controllers sounds enticing, but isn’t it useless if there are no games to play with the Wii U pad?

More important is the battery life of the Wii U Pad which… kind of sucks. 3-5 hours depending on the screen brightness level, and 2 and a half hours to charge.

So as awful as the 3DS, then.
