A Look at Cloud Powered Gaming on Xbox One

The infinite power of the cloud.

Posted By | On 29th, Aug. 2013

Microsoft has made a pretty big deal about cloud powered gaming on the Xbox One, portraying it, ultimately, as the true next generation, and the future of gaming. So much so, that the Xbox One was originally built entirely around that vision, before Microsoft’s series of 180s reduced the internet emphasis a little.

Just a little. Microsoft is still adamant on the power of the cloud and what it will provide for games (dedicated servers for the Xbox One version of Call of Duty: Ghosts, for one). In this video that you see up there, Microsoft attempts to drum up hype for the cloud by engaging Forza Motorsport developer Turn 10 in a discussion about cloud gaming and what it means for Forza. It is pretty interesting stuff, and though a lot of it is marketing talk, it would be pretty interesting if Microsoft did manage to pull this off eventually.

The Xbox One launches in November this year, retailing for $500.
