A Way Out

Hazelight Studios’ A Way Out, their new co-op narrative focused adventure game that launched two weeks ago, has gone ahead and hit 1 million units in sales worldwide, the studio announced on Twitter today. Given the game’s unique design, which makes it playable only in co-op, this is an incredible achievement for the title.

Hazelight is used to their smaller games becoming unlikely successes—Brothers: A Tale of No Sons was a very successful game by the end, after all. A Way Out has also been warmly received in all of its showings, and Josef Fares, the colourful man behind the game, has become widely beloved in gaming circles. It was always due to do well. Still, the pace of success here is impressive indeed.

A Way Out launched in March on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and received great reviews from everyone, in spite of its co-op only design acting as a barrier.
