Bandai Namco has announced a new sales milestone for 2019’s Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. It’s sold more than six million copies worldwide, up from over five million in November 2023. The combat flight title is available for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The series’ worldwide shipments crossed 20 million in 2023, with the current total now likely over 21 million.

With the continued success of Ace Combat 7 after all these years, one has to wonder about the future. Brand director Kazutoki Kono confirmed the title in 2021, with Unreal Engine 5 as the base. The untitled sequel is currently in development with ILCA (SAND LAND and One Piece Odyssey fame) and ORCA assisting.

An official announcement is still pending, though it’s rumored to be Bandai Namco’s next “large-scale” project. Stay tuned for more updates, and read our review of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown in the meantime. We awarded it a nine out of ten for its tight gameplay, storyline, and customization.
