Activision “not preoccupied” with CoD subscriptions says Kotick

Posted By | On 12th, Feb. 2011

Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has stated that the company isn’t interested in charging a subscriptions fee for the Call of Duty franchise. When asked about the matter Kotick told CNBC “you know, we don’t really spend a lot of time thinking, honestly, about how do you convert this Call of Duty experience to a subscription model. What we really spend time thinking about is, how do you create really compelling Call of Duty experiences that are going to delight our audiences, and usually people are willing to pay for the content if you deliver them something spectacular, which is out intention.”

It’s a little strange to hear Kotick sounding like he genuinely cares about the quality of Activision products, but I guess the devil will be ice skating to work for once.

Thanks to CBNC for the info.
