They should be.

Disney Infinity

Activision has expressed delight and is feeling flattered that Disney one of the major brands out there is entering the toys-to-life market made famous by Skylanders series.

Disney Infinity which was announced by the company is also a a sandbox game that will include collectible physical toys, just like Activision’s Skylanders.

Instead of screaming “copycats” at Disney, they actually feel flattered and maybe there’s a little fear that there could be competition since Activision monopolizes the market right now.

“We are thrilled by the incredible success that the Skylanders franchise has had in such a short period of time,” Activision’s vice president of consumer marketing, John Coyne, told Forbes.

“We are also flattered that one of the leading family entertainment companies is joining our toys to life category. We continue to focus on delivering innovative and immersive entertainment experiences to kids around the world and are pouring more creativity into our games. As a result we are well positioned to continue leading the category.”

You can check the trailer of the game here.
