Disney Interactive finally revealed Disney Infinity, an ambitious gaming project it had planned for all major platforms. Featuring tons of characters from beloved franchises like Monsters Inc, The Incredibles and even Pirates of the Caribbean, Disney Infinity involves a massive online universe wherein players can live out different experiences or craft their own.

Each story experience is referred to as a “Play Set” which you can play through and earn various virtual items and characters to add to your “Toy Box”, which can then be used to customize your own virtual world.

Disney Interactive co-president John Pleasants stated that, “Disney Infinity introduces a new way to interact with the best of Disney on one game platform, both now and in the future. With this innovative approach to gaming, Disney Infinity will bring to life new characters, stories and environments from The Walt Disney Company over time in a way that will delight fans and gamers alike.”

Disney Infinity is currently set to release in June 2013 for all consoles, along with mobile and online devices.
