The Xbox One S, a $299 revision of Microsoft’s current generation console, which comes in a smaller form factor, with an internal PSU, 4K capability, and a minor specs bump to the CPU and GPU, will be launching this August, hopefully providing a nice bump to Xbox One sales along the way. And ahead of its launch, Microsoft are dropping the price on current Xbox One SKUs, presumably in an attempt to sell their stock and clear shelf and storage space.
The Xbox One now costs $279, which is $20 cheaper than before. It is available at this new price at Amazon, and other retailers. Currently, a similar price drop for the original Xbox One stock has not been confirmed for other territories.
The Xbox One S is not the only upgraded Xbox Microsoft ill launch, either- next yer, they will be launching the Project Scorpio, a mid cycle overhaul of the Xbox One, which will be, by far, the most powerful console ever released upon launch. We can’t wait to see how it all turns out for them.
