With Control’s AWE expansion bringing the Alan Wake universe into the fold and Remedy Entertainment and Epic Games releasing Alan Wake Remastered earlier this year, there’s been lot of talk about the future of the cult classic horror property of late. Rumours have strongly suggested that Remedy is indeed working on an Alan Wake 2, fully funded by Epic Games, and with the game supposedly having entered full production earlier this year, many are wondering when – if it does exist – it will be announced.
Well, it might actually get announced pretty soon. On a recent episode of insider Nate the Hate’s podcast, journalist Jeff Grubb speculated that Alan Wake 2 could be announced at The Game Awards tomorrow. Nate the Hate himself followed up on that with a very confident declaration that that is indeed going to happen, with Epic Games and Remedy Entertainment wanting to build up hype surrounding the property and the in-development sequel.
Even beyond this possible announcement, The Game Awards 2021 are already looking packed. Reveals for the next Sonic game, Steelrising, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment’s next game, and the Halo TV series have already been confirmed, while it’s possible that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 could receive a trailer as well.
