Alien Breed
Alien Breed, for those who don’t know, is a top down shooter released in 1991 to quite a bit of acclaim. Despite the claims of it being the “original survival-horror”, as a SHMUP, it was highly entertaining. Team17 Digital has announced that it’s now available for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita via PSN for just £6.49/€7.99/$9.99

As usual, Playstation Plus members can avail of a special 20 percent launch discount.

Interestingly, you’re getting two games for the price of one since Team17 has decided to include the original Amiga version with old-school graphics alongside a version with enhanced graphics.

Despite being a shoot ’em up, Alien Breed offers quite a bit of content. It features about 30 levels, 6 of which are from the original, 12 which come from the Alien Breed Special Edition version released in 1992 and finally three completely new level packs – Convergence, Valiance and Synergy – to mix things up for those who’ve already experienced the initial versions.
