Aliens: Colonial Marines Launch Trailer: Enticing, If Nothing Else

Get some...and all that jazz.

Gearbox Software and Sega have release the launch trailer for the sci-fi FPS Aliens: Colonial Marines. For the usual whiz-bang action and smexy explosions, it still conveys the fact that the game is very much set in the Aliens universe where Xenomorphs run up for a kiss more often than not.

However, if the initial critical reaction of the game is to be believed then like Duke Nukem: Forever, Colonial Marines might be a case of “too old, too late”. The PC version, something that Gearbox regularly excels at, currently sits at a measly 47 out of 100 on Metacritic. But not all criticism is equal.

For instance, check out our own review of the Xbox 360 version here where we scored it an 8.5 out of 10.

Of course, this is only the initial phase of reviews. Many more are to come, and if nothing else, it’s as old-school as it can get. Check out the game on Xbox 360, PC or PS3 to find out if that’s enough. Or if Gearbox should be focusing on the next Borderlands instead of these oft-delayed projects.
