Aliens: Colonial Marines “Story” Trailer Highly Reminiscent of Aliens Film

Let the bodies hit the floor, come February.

If deep space exploration has taught people nothing, it’s that there can’t possibly be any brutal alien life forms out there. This is the setting for Gearbox Software’s oft-delayed first person shooter Aliens: Colonial Marines, wherein a marine battalion responds to a distress call on a planet and comes face to face with the dreaded Xenomorphs.

Although, if you’re going to follow a basic formula for story-telling, why not the same one that the movies follow? As it is, Colonial Marines focuses on fast and furious action with great lighting and shadow detail. Plus, players can get in on the marine hunting action by playing as the Xenomorphs in the competitive multi-player modes.

Aliens: Colonial Marines is currently slated for release on February 12th 2013 for Xbox 360, PS3, PC and OnLive. Let’s see if it lives up to the Borderlands 2 school of hype and not the Duke Nukem Forever school of “Eh?”.
