Allison Road Cancellation Explained by Developer

Remember Allison Road, Lilith Ltd.’s P.T. inspired horror title that didn’t make it on Kickstarter and was subsequently picked up by Worms publisher Team17? The developer only recently announced that Allison Road would be cancelled and promised a full explanation for later.

That explanation has now come via Facebook and it doesn’t offer all that much information. “After a long consideration between Team17 and ourselves, we have reached a mutual agreement to end our collaboration on publishing Allison Road under Team17’s Games label.

“Sometime[s] things pan out differently than expected as game development and publishing have so many layers of complexity… We’d like to especially thank everyone for their support through-out, it has and will always be appreciated.”

Perhaps there was a disagreement in the game’s direction and overall quality? It’s not that uncommon in the games industry. Sometimes development cycles just don’t agree with both sides. Regardless, here’s hoping the staff at Lilith Ltd. continue to remain in the industry and perhaps pursue a new project.
