The Legend of Zelda somehow sold over 6.5 million copies despite a very bad commercial
I worked with an advertising professional once and the thing I learnt most from him, was that you really have to put in a LOT of time and effort to sell your product and you have to believe in your product otherwise it will be a disaster before it even launches. The Legend of Zelda was quite the lucky game, because even though the PR guys managed to insanely screw up an advertisement for the game, which by the way came in the form of two kids rapping, managed to sell about 6.5 million titles. Damn!
