Zelda borrows elements from Super Mario Bros.
It’s not hard to imagine that Zelda borrowed a lot from Super Mario Bros, mainly because Super Mario Bros was quite successful and by that time they already had hard core fans and a cult following. One such instance of the borrowed elements was Mario’s piranha plant enemies which ended up in Zelda as the enemies known as “Manhandla”.
