Chain Chomp can break free after tugging 49 times

Chain Chomp is one of those enemies you don’t want biting you, because you can die a very bad and horrible death. The Chain Chomp is a common enemy in the Mushroom World. They first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3. If the Chain Chomps tug on their chain 49 times or if the timer hits 160 seconds, all Chain Chomps come loose and attack you on sight. Interesting fact: The Chain Chomp was inspired by a developers fear of his neighborhood dog, who used to terrorize him on a regular basis.
