Apex Legends Had The Best Launch For A Free-To-Play Game Ever, Says SuperData

But Fortnite still earned more money than it in February.

Apex Legends

Apex Legends has been extremely successful—it already has over 50 million users, and it’s just about over a month old. In fact, it seems like it was so successful, it was the best launch a free-to-play game has ever had, according to analysis firm SuperData.

With $92 million earned in February, Apex Legends got off to a roaring start out of the gates, they report. Nonetheless, even with such an amazing debut, Fortnite did better than Apex Legends in February—although it is to be noted Apex Legends was an entirely new (stealth) release available on fewer platforms, so it did have the deck stacked against it on that front.

It will be interesting to see whether or not Apex Legends can actually continue to hold its own against Fortnite in the coming months—or if its early success will eventually peter out. For now, it seems like Fortnite has found an opponent, at last.
