Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale shooter Apex Legends has been an absolute smash hit, thanks to a fun and fast-paced gameplay loop and consistent content updates over the years. In its recent quarterly earnings report, EA has announced that the game has surpassed the $2 billion milestone in net bookings.

EA’s Chief Financial Officer Chris Suh stated that for fiscal year 2021-22 (April 2021-March 2022) the game’s bookings were up by 40% year on year. What’s more surprising is that around half of Apex Legends’ lifetime bookings have been achieved in the latest fiscal year (FY22). Suh also stated the game’s latest season, Season 12, was its “most successful ever”. Additionally, Suh also re-iterated that Apex Legends’ mobile version is very close to launch.

Apex Legends is up over 40% for the year, taking it past the $2 billion milestone in lifetime net
bookings. Season 12 finished yesterday, and was the most successful ever. And, of course,
Apex Legends Mobile is performing well in tests and is close to launch,” he said.

As for player numbers, Apex Legends had already surpassed 100 million players as of April 2021. The game’s latest season, Season 13, brings plenty of new content, including a new legend in the form of Newcastle- read more on that through here.
