Taking the spotlight during the recent ID@Xbox showcase, developer DON’T NOD has released a brand new trailer for its upcoming narrative adventure game Aphelion. Rather than showcasing any new gameplay features or story beats, the trailer focuses on setting up the creepy atmosphere.

The trailer starts with one of our two protagonists—Thomas—exploring a seemingly abandoned facility. However, a strange anomaly pops up, causing ice crystals to form around him. Meanwhile, our other protagonist, Ariane, is still stuck in her ship. The two are stranded, far from each other, and must figure out a way to reunite and get back home.

While Ariane’s gameplay will revolve more around her physical capabilities, which means scaling cliffs and crossing vast chasms, Thomas’ gameplay will instead focus on puzzle solving and making use of his deductive reasoning skills.

Aphelion received another trailer back in February, which gave us a look at how the two protagonists’ gameplay will be different from each other. It also gave us our first look at a strange creature, Nemesis, that appears as corrupted electromagnetic waves.

Aphelion is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on April 28th, and will also launch on day one for Game Pass. The title was originally unveiled all the way back in June 2025.
