Apple saw record pre-order numbers for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with the former notching up 4 million pre-orders since its initial announcement. After releasing on September 19th, Apple CEO Tim Cook has announced that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus sold a record 10 million units in the past three days.
“Sales for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded our expectations for the launch weekend, and we couldn’t be happier. We would like to thank all of our customers for making this our best launch ever, shattering all previous sell-through records by a large margin. While our team managed the manufacturing ramp better than ever before, we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and we are working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible.”
The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus differ from previous models by featuring Apple’s largest screens yet, with 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch screens respectively. They’re also apparently capable of higher resolution gaming than the Xbox One and PS4. What are your thoughts on the success of the iPhone 6? Let us know in the comments.
