It’s a great time to be a fan of ARC Raiders. While the game will be free-to-play when Frozen Trail, the next big content update, goes live, Chernin Entertainment has confirmed it will adapt the extraction shooter for films and TV projects.
As Variety reports, the label has been picking up a lot of traction in recent times and has been confirmed as the lead producer, in addition to working with Embark on an adaptation of THE FINALS, another multiplayer flagship from the studio.
That one’s been doing well, with its twelfth season already on the horizon, and switching to current-gen exclusivity ensures its gameplay is as unpredictable as ever. It’s easy to see ARC Raiders coming to life on the silver screen, as the scope for a cast among which you never know whom to trust is already baked into the premise. As for THE FINALS, something tells us the world itself could be the worst thing the cast faces when its story takes off.
We’re hoping both can translate the unique vibe their inspirations bring to the table, and you can bet we’ll be in the front row, popcorn in hand, as the chaos unfolds on-screen. Stay tuned for further updates in the meantime.
