With Ubisoft stating that an “unannounced title” will release within this fiscal year, rumors of an Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag remake have only escalated. While it allegedly removes the modern-day Animus segments and any loading screens, content cut from the original is also making its way back in.

However, it may also adapt some of the sleek weather effects seen in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, according to content creator j0nathan on YouTube (translation via Access the Animus on Twitter). He also reports that the menus have been revamped and the map improved. The latter is allegedly more detailed and features more activities, which sounds similar to previous rumors about new quests, though it won’t be bigger or smaller.

Ubisoft hasn’t officially announced the title, which could mean a potential reveal at The Game Awards 2025 on December 11th. With Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake also slated for early next year (mid-January, allegedly), it could also make an appearance in some form. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
