Adewale finally has his own video game as Ubisoft has announced that Freedom Cry, the first campaign based DLC for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, will be releasing as a standalone game tomorrow on PSN. It will be available for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in North America with a launch due in Europe later this week.

What distinguishes Freedom Cry now that it’s a standalone game? Not much – except you don’t need Assassin’s Creed IV in order to play it. It’s an odd equation for sure but for those who finished the game on another console and want to continue their quest on the PS3/PS4 without needing the original game, it’s worth a look.

Freedom Cry received decent reviews when it first released and centers around Adewale’s quest as an Assassin. You’ll be freeing slaves, hunting down mongrels and even meeting up Edward Kenway at some point. Thoughts on this development? Let us know below.
