Ubisoft offered a nice little mini-Assassin’s Creed adventure (by the series’ standards, at least) in the form of Assassin’s Creed Mirage in 2023, but with the series’ next game, Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, it’s set to return to its massive, open world RPG structure. So far, other than the fact that it will be set in feudal Japan, there’s very little that we know about the game, but it’s been claimed that that could change in the relatively near future.

As per @BunnyTheVillain – who’s part of the Ubisoft Creators Program – Assassin’s Creed Codename Red will be formally announced in May, with a gameplay reveal coming at a Ubisoft Forward showcase in July. The content creator – who claims to have been given the information by “a trusted source – the game will release in November.

Last year, a Ubisoft employee’s LinkedIn post suggested that Assassin’s Creed Codename Red would be out sometime in 2024, something that has been claimed in multiple leaks as well. In September, it was also reported by journalist Tom Henderson that the game would be showcased in early 2024.

Henderson also claimed that the game would star two playable protagonists – a male samurai and a female shinobi – and feature stealth-focused mechanics inspired by the Splinter Cell series. It’s also been reported that Codename Red’s modern-day Abstergo story is going to be set in the future.
