Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Runs at Upscaled 4K on PS5

Last month, Ubisoft stated that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla would run in 4K/60 FPS on the PS5. This seemed a given, since the Xbox Series X version was confirmed to run at the same settings. Ubisoft reiterated the same in a recent blog post, which detailed the next-gen performance for a number of its titles.

However, a PR representative for the company has since told DualShockers that the PS5 version runs at upscaled 4K. “I can confirm that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla runs at 4K at 60 fps on PS5 (upscaled 4K).” It’s unknown whether this applies to the Xbox Series X version as well. But the blog post for both still mentions 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, with no mention of any upscaling. We’ll need to wait for more details on this, or at least more extensive testing to know for sure.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is out on November 10th for Xbox Series X/S, while the PS5 version releases on November 12th. Current-gen versions will launch on November 10th as well. For more information on the title, check out our latest feature here.
