Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has published its 1602nd issue, and it’s one that contains reviews for several upcoming releases. The most notable of those upcoming releases is Astral Chain, and Nintendo and PlatinumGames will both be pleased to see that in its first published review, the game has secured a high score.

Famitsu awards Astral Chain  a score of 37/40, with three reviewers giving it a 9/10 and one awarding it a 10/10. One good score is not, of course, a guarantee that critics around the world and the larger gaming audiences will feel the same way about the game, but it is indicative that there’s some pretty good stuff here to be excited about- so it spells good things for Platinum’s new IP.

Astral Chain is out for the Nintendo Switch on August 30th- and by Switch standards, it won’t be a small game in terms of file size. Nintendo recently showcased roughly 30 minutes of new gameplay footage for the game at Gamescom. You can also check out some S+ Rank gameplay through here.
