Atari has announced that it has acquired the IP rights to a large number of retro games. The games, numbering at over 100, include titles and franchises released in the ’80s and ’90s across different platforms and console generations.

According to Eurogamer, the acquired IPs are part of Atari’s acquisition of the catalogues of classic publishers and developers, including Micropose, Infogrames, and Accolade. Atari also now owns the trademark for Accolade.

The company hasn’t revealed a complete list of the IPs and games it now owns, but in its announcement, Atari mentioned Bubsy, Demolition Racer, Hardball, 1942: Pacific Air War, F-117A, and F-14 Air Combat.

Atari has stated that it plans on bringing these classic titles to new audiences through physical and digital releases on consoles and PC. The company has also indicated that it might work on new games in some of the older franchises.

Atari has been on a spree of acquiring developers as well, with the company having recently acquired Nightdive Studios, which is currently working on System Shock Remake.
