Australian Ratings Board Leaks Dead Island Retro Revenge

Dead Island 2 is stuck in development limbo, what with its developer abruptly being made to leave the project, and the creator of the franchise, Techland, now being busy with Dying Light. At this point, a lot of people have probably reasonably started to assume that the IP is, well, suspended, if not outright dead.

But it seems that may be us jumping the gun a bit- you see, the Australian Classification Board has leaked something called Dead Island: Retro Rampage, which sounds awesome to me, because I get the image of an 8 bit NES era beat em up with zombies in it.

According to classification board’s database, the multi-platform title was developed by Empty Clip Studios; we don’t know when it’s meant to come out, but it’s rated M, and it has some kind of online component to it.

Hopefully, this one fares better than the cancelled Dead Island spin off, or the terrible Escape Dead Island.
