Gears of War – Desaturation

It seems that certain developers are confused regarding what color palette they should use in their games. It seems that the norm as of late is the heavy use of brown and gray which really just leaves the in-game world looking bland and boring. The Gears of War series is one franchise that could use a bit more colorful additions. In fact, the Gears of War original color palette consisted of 24,000 shades of gray, 45,000 shades of brown and one single shade of blue. I get that developers were trying to give a setting of a harsh and desolate world within Gears of War but everything didn’t have to be desaturated.
