The story of how Liara hates the Shadow Broker is detailed in Mass Effect Redemption
Mass Effect 2 the Lair of the Shadow Broker was a great addition to the series; it had a great story, music and a really interesting take on how Liara becomes a darker and wiser woman. However before the events of Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect redemption which is a comic books series, explains how Liara comes to know of the Shadow Broker, as well as how her hatred for him grows, as he kidnaps her partner and almost getting away with Shepard’s body.
