Metroid Prime Trilogy
Metroid is the vanguard of 2D gaming. Super Metroid may be the best 2D game of all time. How do you translate something like that into 3D? I don’t know the answer, but Nintendo and Retro Studios somehow did it with the original Metroid Prime. Its two sequels went on to be almost as ridiculously awesome as it was, and in the process, solidified Metroid’s place in 3D gaming history alongside its place in 2D gaming history as well. With the Prime Trilogy, Nintendo offered updated graphics, enhanced pointer controls, achievements, bonuses and extras, and, of course, the opportunity to play three of the most beloved shooters of modern era in one package.
