Pokemon has made an art form of remakes. I mean that in the nicest way possible- I think other developers looking to remake beloved classics should look to how Pokemon does it, and follow that to a T. Just look at how skillfully and tactfully Pokemon handled remakes of games as widely beloved or revered as Pokemon Gold/Silver or Ruby/Sapphire with the excellent HeartGold/SoulSilver and OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire respectively. Pokemon’s remakes aren’t just great re-imaginings of older installments, they are also the best and most progressive entries in the entire franchise. For a franchise as consistently great as Pokemon, that really is saying something.
