Take a gander at the handheld title's gameplay and graphics.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released a new gameplay trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, which shows off the art style and gameplay that players can look forward to along with some of the enemies the Dark Knight will be dealing. Here’s a hint: Solomon Grundy on a Monday. Try to crack that riddle.

Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, like its console counterpart, takes place before Arkham Asylum/City and sees Batman mixing it up with the foul criminals of Blackgate Prison. Unlike the console version however, Blackgate will be a Metroid-vania style platformer. Developed by Armature Studio, the game will be presented in 2.5D space but still allow for Free Flow combat as Batman fights enemies in the foreground and background. Old gadgets will also return but work a bit differently in the 2.5D plane.

Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate is scheduled to release on October 25th, the same day as Arkham Origins, and will be available for the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita.
