Though initial reports indicated that he wouldn’t, Kevin Conroy – the voice of Bruce Wayne/Batman since the release of Batman: The Animated Series in the 90’s till Rocksteady’s Arkham Asylum/City – will be returning to voice the Dark Knight in Warner Bros. Montreal’s Batman: Arkham Origins.
The actor confirmed as much at the Dallas Comic Con, and given his experience with the character, knowledge of expressions and intonations unique to the Batman, we’re thankfully that he’s returning again, even if it may be for the last time.
Unlike the previous two titles, Arkham Origins is a prequel, taking place during a snowy Christmas as a younger, less experienced Batman takes on Black Mask and his hired cadre of assassins, which includes Deathstroke. Other criminals slated to appear include Penguin and The Joker, and we’ll reportedly see Batman’s first ever encounter with the latter in Origins.
Batman: Arkham Origins is slated to release on October 25th for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC.
