Battlefield 1 Allows You to Play As Carrier Pigeon

For a brief time of course.

Battlefield 1

DICE’s Battlefield 1 will feature many different sequences in its campaign thanks to the length and breadth of its War Stories. Some of those sequences are pretty interesting, like fighting through the Sinai Desert on horseback, and others are fairly outlandish.

For example, for a minute or so in the Through Mud and Blood mission, you’ll control a carrier pigeon. The sequence is fairly straightforward – fly the highlighted rings to deliver a message to your allies – but it offers more emotional substance than anything. Through the pigeon, you can witness the utter destruction and mayhem taking place.

Check it out for yourself courtesy of footage from MathChief. This mission is playable for EA/Origin Access members thanks to the early trial so it’s possible to check it out for yourself.

Battlefield 1 is out on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on October 21st. What are your thoughts on this new gameplay addition? Let us know in the comments below.
