Battlefield 1 (4)

If you weren’t one of the lucky souls to receive closed alpha access to DICE’s Battlefield 1, then take note – a beta for the game will begin “shortly after” Gamescom according to Battlefield community manager Sebastian Moritz from Germany.

While speaking to Twitch streamer CommanderKrieger (translation via Reddit), Moritz revealed that Battlefield Insiders (those subscribed to the series newsletter) would receive early access to the beta, likely up to three days earlier than your average player.

He also confirmed Rush Mode would be returning for the final game. Contents of the beta weren’t revealed so at this point, it remains to be seen just how much more will be added on from the closed alpha.

Gamescom 2016 takes place from August 16th to 21st so expect the beta to begin by either August end or in early September. What are your thoughts on the Battlefield 1 closed alpha if you have access? Let us know in the comments below.
