Battlefield 1 Won’t Receive Custom Maps

But it could still happen in the future.

Battlefield 1 (4)

Even as the Battlefield series has become more and more popular, it’s become closed down- no modding, or custom user generated content, for example. It makes sense, in that the games are highly competitive and EA and DICE don’t want user generated content compromising their balance and integrity.

So it should come as no surprise to you that Battlefield 1 is currently not planned to get any custom map creation for the foreseeable future. EA and DICE confirmed this on their official Twitter account, though they also suggested that the door wasn’t completely closed on that front, suggesting the person who asked the question to post it on the forums for the development team to see.

I’d personally like this feature to come to fruition (it’d be great for private multiplayer games), so I hope DICE do look into it. Battlefield 1 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and by all accounts, it’s a killer game.
