Battlefield 1 (4)

Historically, there is one thing that DICE have always sucked at- they have sucked at nailing the single player portions of their games, with Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, and Star Wars: Battlefront in particular all disappointing many with their underwhelming and paltry single player offerings. So naturally, people are a bit wary now when it comes to DICE and single player.

That said, DICE at least are doing their best to change your mind on that and challenge your pre-conceived notion with this brand new trailer for Battlefield 1, which showcases the single player campaign in the upcoming game. The single player in the final game may yet disappoint, but if this trailer is anything to go by, it seems as though DICE may have finally nailed how to do good single player modes- and just in time, too, given how much of a waste it would have been if they had squandered this game’s rich setting on an underwhelming single player outing this time around.

Battlefield 1 is due out on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC next month.
