Battlefield 2042

Battlefield 2042 isn’t doing well right now, and the state the game launched in, the lack of updates in the time since then, and the erratic communication from DICE has, collectively, resulted in a consistently dwindling playerbase. While many are hoping for Battlefield 2042 to receive fixes and new content, it seems that microtransactions, unsurprisingly, are also on the table.

Battlefield 2042 recently received update 4.0, which brought with it a number of tweaks and big fixes, and in the patch’s files dataminer temporyal discovered details on the game’s upcoming in-game store and the microtransactions it’ll bring with it. There’s mention of purchasable bundles, cosmetics for soldiers, weapons, and vehicles, as well as XP boosts- the latter one in particular is unlikely to go down well with what’s left of the game’s community.

Meanwhile, it seems players will be able purchase five different premium currency packages, while the files also include references to weekly and bonus missions for the game’s battle pass, which will launch when season 1 kicks off sometime this summer. Finally, temporyal has also shared images of the store menu. Check them out below.

Battlefield 2042 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
