DICE has released details on Battlefield 2042‘s upcoming third season in a new development update. In the video, member of the development team, Alexia Christofi, goes into detail about various aspects of the game, including the upcoming Specialist and Classes revamp, new weapons coming to the game, as well as map reworks, and plans for the game’s fourth season.

Battlefield 2042 Season 3 is set to bring back Battlefield: Bad Company‘s XM8 LMG, along with Battlefield 3‘s A-91. The studio also detailed its testing on Weapon Proficiencies and how they work with the Specialist and Classes revamp. Capping off the development update are details on the revamp for the maps Manifest and Breakaway, which will be more in line with other revamped maps like Kaleidoscope, Renewal, and Orbital.

Battlefield 2042 is expected to kick off Season 3 in late November. The update to Specialists and return of Classes is slated for release in patch 3.2, which is schedule for early in 2023.

EA and DICE recently announced that Battlefield 2042 will be coming to EA’s subscription service, EA Play. By extension, this also means that the multiplayer shooter will be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which also includes a subscription to EA Play as part of its services.
