Yet another solid entry into the Battlefield franchise.

Battlefield 4 is out now on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC and so are the reviews from several reputable publications. Battlefield 4 is one of the few titles that will cross generational, that means it will also be released on the upcoming PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Current reports indicate that the game is 720p on the Xbox One and 900p on the PlayStation 4 but that topic is for another day.

DICE has promised that this is the biggest game in the Battlefield 4 series with larger environments, a better destruction engine and engaging multiplayer modes. But can it better 2011’s Battlefield 3 in terms of aggregate review scores? As of right now, Battlefield 4 has a review score of 85 at popular aggregate site Metacritic. In comparison, its predecessor has a solid Metacritic score of 89.

Reputed publications like Gameinformer have stated that there are subtle improvements in the game and have praised the multiplayer portion of the game. Whereas IGN and Gamespot believe that single player is disappointing. Personally, this is a bit of a let down since DICE had promised time and time again that the campaign mode will be much improved in Battlefield 4. Unfortunately, this does not seem to be the case.

Our very own review of Battlefield 4 will be going live this week.
