We don’t yet know just what is in store for Battlefield 5 but it looks as if DICE is looking to change the way things are done in these first person shooters. A recent job listing on the company’s website says it is looking for a Sr. Technical Animator. More than that, this particular animator is going to be tasked with using their skills to “drive innovation and application of new animation technology.” The job listing specifically states that this position is for an “unannounced AAA title.” So this is most likely for the upcoming Battlefield game or possibly the new Star Wars game.

Just what this new animation technology might be is anybody’s guess. It seems unlikely that we’ll know much more about this before the game’s official unveiling. We can hope that will come at this year’s E3, but that’s still a ways away. DICE has already said that it is not quite ready to really talk about the game so any information we’re hoping to glean straight from the horse’s mouth will have to wait a bit. The company detailed a couple of other things this new position will need to be able to carry out as well as the skills. You can check out the entire listing here.

Battlefield 5 is likely coming to the PS4, Xbox One and PC sometime in 2016 but an official release date has not yet been announced.
