Battlefield 6

Following rumors around the next Battlefield’s name, DICE has confirmed that it is indeed called Battlefield 6. More importantly, a reveal trailer will premiere on July 24th at 8 AM PDT.

Little is known about the campaign, except that it reportedly faced issues hitting its milestones and budgets, but multiplayer has been in testing since last March via Battlefield Labs. Extensive footage has leaked of the same, showcasing the destruction, vehicles, return to a more modern setting, and the lack of weapon restrictions for classes (prompting some backlash).

DICE has since outlined plans for the upcoming open beta to accommodate both styles. Players can run with any desired weapon, but only the designated classes will receive benefits (like Recon players able to hold their breath with sniper rifles). Perhaps alongside the reveal, we’ll learn more about the beta’s dates.

While Battlefield 6 doesn’t have a release date, it’s expected to arrive sometime this fiscal year for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
